About the Author: Tim Newman
Dr. Tim Newman is an accomplished educator and sport professional with nearly three decades of experience in the field of sport management and athletic training.
Specializing in the areas of sport marketing, public relations, leadership, and social media, he has taught in the United States and across the globe including Botswana, Malaysia and Thailand.
He has always been a forward thinker and problem solver which led to him write Social Media in Sport Marketing, which was published over 10 years ago as one of the first books on the subject.
Those qualities were also the impetus for him teaching and developing online courses for over twenty years and laid the foundation for his newest project, the Speaking with Confidence course.
As the founder of the Dream Chasers Management Group, Dr. Newman strives to help others achieve their goals by implementing proven marketing techniques, strategic planning, and effective communication skills.
His industry experience includes sports marketing and promotional campaigns for Towson University and private businesses.
He has personally worked with athletes competing in high school, college, the Olympics and professional sports.
Dr. Newman has been instrumental in developing, running, and growing youth sports programs and serving on a variety of sport-related Boards within the community and the professional organizations associated with academia.
His personal love of competition and passion for golf ultimately led him to the Golfweek Amateur Tour and has resulted in becoming a Tour Director where he has run amateur golf tournaments in over 6 markets throughout the United States.
He is currently the host of two active podcasts – “The Golfweek Amateur Tour – The Podcast” and “Speaking with Confidence.”
He is also the creator of the Formula for Public Speaking which is a step-by-step program to help anyone who wants to improve their public speaking skills.
When he is not working on any of these projects you will find him spending time with his wife, his two daughters and his grandchildren.
